April-6-2011

A seasoned industry professional, Deckard was previously employed by new home builder Warmington from 1983 to 1995 and has now returned to oversee project management for Southern California division.

James “Jay” Deckard has re-joined the new home building company of Warmington Residential California as Senior Project Manager for its Southern California division. Deckard was previously employed by Warmington for approximately 12 years before leaving to pursue other real estate related endeavors, including owning operating his own homebuilding firm in Tampa, Florida.

According to an announcing by Brian Sinderhoff, president of Warmington’s Southern California division, Deckard was rehired due to the company’s recent increase in homebuilding activity. As senior project manager, he will oversee the project management efforts for all of Warmington’s Southern California communities, which currently include three that are now selling and three others that are slated to open this year.  His responsibilities also include due diligence for land acquisition on new opportunities, which Warmington is aggressively seeking.

Currently, Warmington’s Southern California division is building and selling new homes at Day Creek Highlands in Rancho Cucamonga; Elements at Pine Valley Estates in Chino Hills; and Poinsettia Ridge in Carlsbad. Three additional communities are slated to open this year: Seaside Highlands in Encinitas, Edgehill Terrace in Vista, and Stonehaven Estates II in Chatsworth.

“Jay is a real professional and his broad knowledge of all aspects of home building, project management, due diligence and his ability to serve as a liaison between Warmington and the cities and counties in which we are building will be a tremendous asset to our group,” Sinderhoff said in announcing Deckard’s appointment. “We are very happy that he has re-joined our team and know he will help ensure our future success.”

In addition to his previous experience with Warmington, Deckard also has worked for Toll Brothers in Southern California, and served as vice president of operations for Avatar Development in Miami, Florida, where he helped to complete the 192-acre Harbor Islands master planned community.  Most recently, Deckard was president and owner of Berkshire Homes, Inc., a custom home building company in Tampa, Florida.

The Warmington group of companies currently has 13 new home communities in various stages of development and/or construction, including more than 600 fee-managed single-family homes and several apartment complexes with nearly 1,000 for-rent residential units, in locations throughout California and Nevada.

The group, which began as a builder of custom homes in 1926, and is well known for crafting beautiful residential neighborhoods, now also offers a full spectrum of real estate management and development services. This includes project analysis, asset protection, property management, and entitlement processing as well as planning, building, selling and servicing new residential production homes, condominiums and apartments.

The Southern California division of the Warmington and the group’s corporate headquarters are located at 3090 Pullman Street in Costa Mesa, CA 92629. For more information, visit www.HomesByWarmington.com or call (714) 557-5511.
